For the month of September, our featured members are Brenda and Barney Wood. They, like many of us, made the run to the sun a couple of years ago and made Spring Hill their permanent home. They hail from a small burg about fifty miles from Bean Town called Leominster . That’s pronounced LUMISTAAH by the natives. I’ve never spent any time in Massachusetts , but it must be another world
because it most certainly has its own language. Barney and Brenda grew up in LUMISTAHH but in different decades. Let’s put it this way…Barney was signing papers for his first Corvette when Brenda was a twinkle in daddy’s eyes. Barney has owned over thirty Corvettes. His AUTO DU JOUR is a ’63 silver split window coupe that he did the ground up resto on. Brenda is now driving her third Corvette. It’s an ’02 millennium yellow six speed coupe. She loves that car so much that she choreographed a little song and dance number that she performs as she walks by it in the garage. Ask her to do it for you. Barney, now retired from the five bay service station he owned and operated, still loves his cars and is a walking, talking, flatulating wealth of mechanical information. Brenda is working for Gale Insulation and owns her own electrolysis business. Barney is a father of three daughters and a grandfather to a bunch of grandkids. Brenda, on the other hand, is not too fond of having to admit that she is a grandmother. When I asked Barney if he would like to tell us a favorite car story, he declined. He said his favorite car stories all included sex. In Massachusian, that’s WICKED GOOD! Butch Uzzo Reporting
